I know what some of you are thinking and you have to try it to believe it. This smoothie really is good. It is packed with the daily nutrition we need to get through our day, especially after a intense workout.
Romaine lettuce- is a highly nutritious leafy green to use in a green smoothie. With a mild flavor that is easily masked by fruit so it’s perfect if you’re new to green smoothies or making it for picky eaters. It provides 106 calories and gives a super jolt of nutrition such as calicum, Omega-3, Vitamin A and K, Iron, B vitamins, and believe it or not Protein!
Pineapple- can be a great source of manganese and vitamin C. Also bromelain is an enzyme that breaks down protein and is useful as a digestive aid and an effective anti-inflammatory.
Cucumber- great source of B vitamins and carbohydrates that can provide that afternoon pick-me-up that can be just the jolt that you need. Cucumbers give you wings with Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc. So who needs a multivitamin?
Celery- Celery is a natural antioxidant. It contains rich amount of vitamin A and beta-carotene. Given the fact that it is very low in calories, celery plant, especially leaves, is used in many weight loss diets. 100 grams of celery leaves contains only 16 calories.
Ginger- Ginger is a herb known as a spice has a strong distinct flavor that can increase the production of saliva. Ginger has a wide variety of effects on the human body from helping with headaches to nasuea.
Coconut Water- Dubbed "Mother Nature’s sports drink" is naturally refreshing with a sweet, nutty taste. It contains easily digested carbohydrate in the form of sugar and electrolytes. Low in calories, naturally fat- and cholesterol free, more potassium than four bananas, and super hydrating.
